Delegates Report
I want to thank all of you for
allowing me to serve the Area as Alternate Delegate. I feel
privileged to be able to do so. As you all know, my primary job
is to pray for our Delegate. My prayers must be working, for Jim
is doing well.
Part of my job is to be H&I
liaison and it is one of the most rewarding parts of my job. I
get to meet some of the most dedicated people to AA that there
is. I also enjoy visiting the H&I Intergroups, both the
Spanish as well as the English. As your liaison I have attended
the last two H&I conferences. I do not have the words to
describe how wonderful these events were. They have speakers
that are experts in the field of Alcoholism and other
addictions. One of the presentations this year was by Dr. Kevin
M. who lectures on addiction medicine. He says that they have a
couple of drugs now that will take away the cravings for drugs
and alcohol. His fear is that some doctors will start
prescribing these drugs and not send their patients to 12 step
programs.
They also have people that work
in the prisons that come and share how important it is for us to
take panels in. They see the difference in the inmates that the
panels make. I encourage all that can, please go to one of these
Conferences. All of the H&I Intergroups need panel leaders
and people to go on panels. It's very rewarding 12-step work.
Central Office also needs people to answer phones.
Love In Service Charlie W.
